UN climate change talks - Poznan 1st to 12th December
The United Nations Climate Change Conference is a meeting of world leaders to discuss the future of the planet.
What are the talks about?
The climate talks in Poznan, Poland is another step towards a international climate agreement to be agreed upon in Copenhagen 2009.
The talks will look at how global efforts can reduce greenhouse gases, avoid dangerous climate change, support sustainable development, cut carbon dioxide emissions, better use clean technologies and help the poorer countries to cope.
What can we hope after Poznan?
Developed countries to agree to cut emissions by at least 40% by 2020 and provide at least $200 billion/year support to developing countries from 2013.
